Sunday 27th April Barcelona Day 1

As Freddie Mercury would sing BARCELONA!!

 

 

The bed head look of Mr Anderson, no kettle in our apartment so ladle of boiled water!

Colly looks in need of a COFFEE!!!

 

Coffee revived Colly and now onto sandwich making for our lunch!

We are on a budget of £'s each day so the sandwiches are certainly helping with that!

Placa Espanya - an absolutely beautiful roundabout

 

So we walk down this very long beautiful road to get to 

the first stop for the Hop on Hop off bus tour

 

Pretty fountain on this roundabout, starting to think Barcelona is a very pretty city now!

 

Yet another pretty fountain on a roundabout - I did hear they were proposing new plans for Haudagain roundabout in Aberdeen do you think I should give them some ideas might brighten the mood around the roundabout! Hee Hee!!

 

Awh look someone has sent us an air kiss mwah, mwah very European who ever it was,

thank you very much we caught it and kept it :o)  Sooo special seeing kisses in the sky XXX

 

Awh actually you can see two kisses in the sky when we turned round the corner,

we've seen lots of double kissing on each cheek, mwah mwah very European lovie!!!

They certainly like their water fountains in Barcelona

It's going to be Scorchio so the white pins (legs) are showing on all three of us!!

Sunglasses required too dazzling as our pins haven't seen sunlight in a while ha ha!!

 

After a very long queue we eventually get onto the bus

The Agbar Tower contains mostly offices and then comes to life again at night with over 4,500 luminous LED points displaying a staggering range of 16 million colours.  Would loved to have seen this but it doesn't start until 9pm, too late for all of us!!

The top of the Sagrada Familia - fascinating that the building works commenced in 1882 and the work is still on-going with an expected completion date of 2026!  Each piece and each side of the building is said to be unique hence why it is taking soooo long!  There are a few photos of each side of the building.  Gaudi who designed it died in 1926 so would have only seen a small bit of it built!

 

 

We get closer to the Sagrada Familia and come across these little Flamenco dancers, soooo cute!!

We are going round the outside of the building when there is a live band

playing with lots of people in orange t-shirts doing looks like an aerobics class,

it said something something fitness on their t-shirts!  Random!

 

'Video killed the Radio star' song comes on so Amy and I stop and dance in the street! Random!

 

More music let's play some air guitar!!!  Even more random ha ha!!

Made chicken tomato pasta bake for Colin and I with left over pizza

I've made enough pasta for tomorrow night :O))

 

We have now completed Day 11 of our 91 days of travelling, time is flying by sooooo quickly!!

We have sooooo many things to do and see in the next 80 days, bring it on!!
