Our final photograph with us sitting in front of the wood burning stove, candles on and some bubbly! Life is sweet other than the fact that Colin and I have just finished work so that is us unemployed but hopefully not unemployable well Colin more so than me as I do have a job to go to Ha Ha!!!!
What a weird feeling driving away from work thinking of the journey home and knowing we will never make that journey again!! Very strange indeed. Few funny goings on, so I left work at 3pm and went round Noble's Hospital, went to the Bank office and handed in my time sheet that was very strange as it was Wendy who was my first point of contact at the old Noble's and then gave me my job back in December 2002. My Bank role has always been my Plan B if I had a permanent position! Went to the Porter's Lodge to hand in my security pass and they invited me in, I had never been in their Den before in the 10 years Noble's has been open, lovely seeing all the guys though and their 'hangout'! I then went to wards I used to work on to say 'See you later' and then went to go get changed and yeah doh no swipe security card so stood for a minute contemplating what a big thing that you get used to having a swipe card to access all areas and then it be taken away from you, eeek! How can I get my clothes and car keys Mmmmmmm thankfully someone else came by at that point and let me in, obviously didn't look too suspicious ha ha!! Got changed and then boom yet again couldn't get out the back entrance with all my uniforms to hand them in and say 'Bye Bye' uniforms!! Went a sneaky way out though that didn't need a swipe card! So that is me now out of work for a few months until we arrive in Australia hopefully starting work at the start of August or start of September depending on my police check.
So Colin was going through the same emotions a few hours later. Colin rings me at 6pm and says 'Just checking I have done everything?' so my reply was 'not really sure what your day entails normally but have you checked all your accounts that were due, emailed everyone you needed to and kept your client's happy?' We just laughed at that point as the reality was sinking into Colin that it was time to leave, he had done everything to tidy up loose ends at work. Colin then felt the same weird feeling driving home but the house news helped ease the weirdness and also the sparkling wine!!
The weirdness continues for us though as Colin no longer has a BLACKBERRY! Wowcha that has been hard not seeing him on it replying to emails on a day off and Colin has caught himself looking for his Blackberry, strange but good times ahead!!
Gosh, what a busy pair!! Colin keep up the hovering!!Just about there,eh?
ReplyDeleteHope today goes to plan.ESPECIALLY the finally of the house.
