Berlin Day 1 29th April

Guten Morgen Berlin XX

 

 

Just coming into land, really weird we had people singing on the flight then clapping when they announced we had arrived in Berlin, maybe they were excited just like us ha ha!!

 

First foot on German soil for Colin and Amy!

I have been to Germany with school trips, many years ago!

 

Here we are waiting for the train from the airport to take us to Potsdamer Platz

 

Watch out Amy here is the train 14.03-14.31hrs

We've made it to Potsdamer Platz now which direction to our hotel??

 

Here we are 5 minute walk - Novotel Suites

 

Room 234 - really big room and has a similar feel to a cabin

The first shop we saw whilst walking to the hotel had stickers so we got one!

Colin did say 'how do you know you'll love Berlin as we have only just arrived'!  Amy's reply 'It is only a sticker Daddy for Berlin, we'll see if we love it or not but it doesn't matter'

So we head out for a walk and head for our tea at Hard Rock Café!

The flats at the right hand side have pictures of sky on them maybe to blend into the background?? 

No I don't think that plan worked Mr Designer it is still a big block of concrete ha ha!!

Hard Rock Café on Kurfürstendamm

 

Here is our train!  It's a bit like the wombles song though this underdground as we go 'underground, overground, wombling free' so we start our journey off overground above the road level on a suspended train track and then we go down and underground and then we get off and womble free!

 

Yippee we have made it to Hard Rock Café, let's treat ourselves as we have been under budget nearly every day other than the day we had to buy our suitcase!

Food has arrived - the burger family YUMMY!!

 

Oh yummy pulled pork and chicken, delicious!!

Oh absolutely right CHOCOLATE ice cream for pudding. 

We wander through the streets trying to look for a supermarket for breakfast and lunch supplies!

Back home on the underground/overground and early to bed, we were all tired out!!!
