Paris Day 3 Wednesday 23rd April

Paris Day 3 Oui Oui XX

Good morning Little Miss Amy hiding under the covers!!  Another early start it is only 6.30am but we've got to get moving we have to meet our bus trip to Palace of Versailles at 08.15hrs in the middle of town!!

Okay Amy is up now and ready to go!

This is my stop for being a September baby ha ha!!

We've arrived for our bus tour to Versailles.  So the palace, Colin and I all have history!  Colin and I came to Paris in May 2005 and attempted to find the Palace then but we didn't have any luck as metro stations were closed and not sure of our directions that we got were correct!  So to make sure we got there we booked a bus trip!!

Here is the bus, woop woop!!  We are getting closer now to seeing Palace of Versailles

Excited girls xx

The bus tour has taken us round the Arc De Triomphe and we have SURVIVED!!
Wow that is seriously just organised chaos on the roads!!

Yippee we have made it to the Palace and it is dripping in gold on the front, let's get in now!

Our handheld tour guides, find the number in the room and type it in and hey presto
you have a description of the room that you are in

The girlies listening to some interesting facts about the Palace

The paintings are Amazing!

The paintings on the ceilings are out of this world in every room WOW

The King's Chapel

Good one Amy you have elbowed your way to the front to get a photo!

Daddy's depiction of the statue

Amy's depiction of her statue

My dude I chose to copy!

Love this ceiling painting

Catching a glimpse at the gardens as we are going through the rooms

Colin looking engrossed in his guided tour!

The King's bed that he didn't sleep in??

WOW, my favourite room The Hall of Mirrors
17 chandeliers alongside the 17 windows overlooking the gardens!

Had to get a photo in my fav room!

The view from the windows in the Hall of Mirrors

So this is the King's Bed he actually slept in!

The Queen's Bed - her bed looks like the poor relations compared to the King's!!

This made Colin and I chuckle here are the two seats where the King and Queen would eat tea if they had company but there were only seats in front of them for their sons and daughters to watch them eat and seats at the side of the room for more distant relatives to watch them eat!!  Life before TV, Internet etc let's go and ask the King and Queen if we can watch them eat their tea!!!!!

Amy's still listening to the commentary, Colin and I are getting a bit bored!
I wonder what facts will Amy astound us with next!
We've already had the conversation about Paris being the City of Love and Amy telling us that Paris is known as the City of Lights and right enough it is famous for being City of Lights and Love!

Angelina xx

Outside the front of the Palace with the gold dripping everywhere!!

Stopping for a snack, nice view!!

Awh the young lovebirds ha ha!!

Our new trainers we bought for coming on our big holiday adventure!  Our trainers are walking the miles with us!!

A small section of the gardens with Apollo Fountain and Grand Canal, absolutely stunning!

Think Colin could show the gardener's a thing or too about edging the grass, bit shabby ha ha!!!

Apollo Fountain up close

The grass is called the 'Green Carpet' looking back to the Palace

Walking around some more of the Palace grounds, wowee!

Like a maze, sooo high hedging and very neat straight lines!

Colin messing about dodging in between the hedges!!

Long Avenue to walk back to the Palace

Another view of the Palace

Wow just found other gardens to the side of the Palace

Back out of the front to catch the bus back to Paris, had a good morning.
The Palace has been Amy's favourite part of being in Paris xx

View from our bus - The miniature Statue of Liberty that New York gave to Paris in 1886!
Seemingly Amy knew there was a miniature Statue of Liberty, Colin and I didn't!!

Eiffel from our bus heading back to city centre

We stopped at a café that has seats outside on the pavement!  A must do when in Paris!  Amy had chocolate cake ooooh it was scrummy and well worth breaking my wheat free diet for, well certainly for the small amount that Amy couldn't manage

Glass of Chardonnay Mr A xx

Half a pint of Shandy Mrs A xx

Oooh la la xx

At the Louvre, we didn't go in just loving the architecture and ambience!

So Colin and I were here at the Louvre in May 2005 and we thought we would replicate the photo 9 years later but we couldn't remember where we had the photo taken!
I've found it and we just needed to face the other way and also it was a split photo before Selfie's!!  Hey Ho!

Ha ha funny looking at the photo from 9 years ago!!

So Amy told us that I had to do the comment for our old photo's 'The old' and then for the new Louvre family photo's comment 'The new and improved!' Funny :O)))

We are away to try and find Pandora shop now!  Amy got a Pandora bracelet from Uncle Brian and Auntie Nicola so in London with her English £'s she bought Red, White and Blue charm and spied the Eiffel Tower!  We all thought this was a perfect way to spend her money that she has received from family and friends over the past few months and it will not impact on the weight allowance that we have!

Amy with Paris top on and in the Paris Pandora shop!

Looking chic

Here are her charms, British one and her Eiffel Tower.  We didn't take her Pandora bracelet on our adventure so can't wait to get to Aussie land and join up her bracelet and charms!!  The collection will continue on the way!
Thanks Uncle Brian and Auntie Nicola, such a thoughtful gift!

The shopping mall the Pandora shop was in, old part of a wall of some description but we couldn't understand the French scribe, beautiful h!  We had McDonald's for late lunch and early tea so we can head back to the hotel at a reasonable time as need to starting packing up to move on tomorrow!  So Uncle Brian we have trumped you we have had McD's Champs Elysee and Louvre!!

Amy struggled to get to sleep tonight as she is sooooo excited about our new adventure tomorrow.......
BRUGES XXXX
