So we were supposed
to wake up and see Helsinki and due to be docked by 10am. Plans were for a
leisurely morning, a walk, breakfast and get organised. Colin was up first for his walk and he goes up
on deck to find the same view as we had yesterday! So he asks one of the restaurant staff what
has happened. We did not depart last
night at 2230 as scheduled due to gale force winds so we weren’t sure what was
going to happen with our schedule or with Helsinki?? An announcement came over the speaker system
saying that the Captain felt it was unsafe to travel during the night to
Helsinki. The winds were over 50 knots
pushing into where we were berthed so it would have been hard to try and push
against the wind to get away from the quayside.
The channel that we needed to sail in changes direction for cruise ships
to get in and out so we had a window of 1am if we wanted to get to Helsinki,
the captain decided to take the decision not to try and battle with the winds
so we are now scheduled to leave this morning from St Petersburg to travel
direct to Stockholm to get back to schedule.
Slightly disappointed that we didn’t make it to Helsinki and have another
day at sea instead :o((( so no adventures today for us but Amy is thrilled as
she can go to kid’s club 9am-12 and then 2pm-5pm!
Morning
session over and Amy has made a butterfly!
They do lots of art, science and game activities during the session, Amy
loves it :O)))
Yippee
we have started to move but it is still windy and COLD!!!
Amy
playing with her origami gun and holster!!
Stick
em up!!!!!
Afternoon
session and Amy won first prize this week for guessing the flags and telling something
about the country! She won second prize
last week so she is chuffed to bits with her water bottle!
Amy pretending to be
a waiter as we play Uno Flash before tea at 6pm.
We did say we were all kind of missing our
routine of school, work etc but I suppose we are just on a different routine
but these two weeks has certainly been revolved around a food routine!! Breakfast 8-9am, snack only sometimes if we
feel hungry (doesn’t happen very often!), lunch 12-2, tea 6pm and then
sometimes snack before bed at 8-9pmish!
Pretty good routine to be in but we just couldn’t sustain this life as
we would have to buy more clothes as in BIGGER sizes ha ha!!
Now
it is time for tea at Romeo & Juliet restaurant
Amy got a gondola
fishing boat type origami tonight, forgot to get a photo sorry!
We had tea and headed
to catch the end of the show it was Swing City, Amy sat and was engrossed in it
she loves watching the dancers and singers perform. Amy has decided when she grows up she would like to be a doctor or a dancer on a cruise ship!
After the show they had a 70’s disco in the Centrum so we headed there for a boogie!!!

It’s funny Colin
doesn’t really like taking the camera but a toss-up between dancing and taking
a photo he was keen to get the camera!!!
Amy wanted to get one of the flashing rings that the dancers and
entertainment crew had so we had to go on stage for them to throw them to the
crowd! We danced to Beegees Night Fever
and Staying Alive and then one of the crew threw a ring for Amy. That was the end of the dancing as Amy was
happy!
We came back to the
room to find, well Colin and Amy thought they were penguins I thought they were
people, tell you what they are COOL whatever they are!!
Quick dance in the
room and then off to bed ready for Stockholm in the morning due to be docked at
7.30am!!
