31st May
DISNEY’S MAGIC
KINGDOM
WOWEE!!!
And this is day 45
out of 91, we are now half way through our big holiday adventure, that is extremely
scary where is time going?!?!?!?!
So today we are
heading to part of Amy’s birthday present her breakfast with Cinderella, WOW
how EXCITING!!
The
before hairstyle had to be planned for meeting Cinderella xxx
After
curly wurly xxx
Ok
let’s get going, we have princesses to see and the opening ceremony at 8.40am! We left the house at 7.30am
Here
we go, EXCITED, EXCITED, EXCITED!!!!
So Disney car and park and the actual parks are a good distance away from each other that Disney provides transport to and from the car parks. So we get a tram first to take us to either the ferry or monorail
We
opted for the monorail as we are pushed for time to get to the opening
ceremony!! It is 8.30am and the ceremony
starts at 8.40am!
WOW
we made it for the opening ceremony! All
the characters arrive on a steam train and then sing and dance. Then the countdown to the park opening and as
you can imagine there are quite a lot of people at the opening ceremony and
then it is like a wave of people start moving forward when the door
opened! Wow it is like the tide we are
getting washed in along the way! WOW
never experienced anything like this before!
The sea of people as
the doors opened and there is Cinderella’s castle, WOW!!
Certainly is where
dreams come true at this park!
Not
a chance of getting a photo of the castle without someone in it at this time of
day, later on maybe!
There is a new ride
that opened a few days ago Seven Dwarves Mine Train, so the insider tips was to
go that ride first as the waiting times become crazy later on in the day!! So by the time we walk there the queue is
absolutely massive and is weaving through the park, oh what the park has only
just opened!!
Topiary of Alice in Wonderland
So whilst Colly
queues for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train for us Amy and I go across to the Mad
Tea Party ride which was spinning cups and saucers, great way to waste 10-15
minutes of our time!
Here
we are finished the Seven Dwarves Mine Train ride and we only had to wait 30 minutes as later on the
queue went up to 50 minutes so that was good we were on quite fast really! The queue inside had interactive things for
the kids to do to keep them entertained so eased the pain of the queue!
Selfie
in front of the castle an absolute must!!!
Think Amy needs her sunglasses on!
Amy
has found her sunglasses now, much happier smile now!
It is 9.45am and our table is booked for
10am they said arrive 15 minutes before your allotted time so we did and got
sent away until 9.55am, oooooh sooooo close now!!!
We
went for a wander and came across Cinderella’s wishing well Amy has a few lucky
pennies in her hand so close your eyes Amy and make a wish!
Excitement is rising as we are now checked in for our breakfast with Cinderella, we are all SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!
WOW here she goes and first things first let’s get Cinderella’s autograph!!
WOW this is AMAZING meeting Cinderella!
Family shot for the souvenir of the day, part of the breakfast package!
Now it is breakfast
time and look at the speed Amy is climbing the castle stairs, no stopping her
now!!
Amy
admiring Cinderella’s autograph!
We had a table next
to the window overlooking some of the rides and shops, cool!
Plate
of pastries to start with and look at the muffins, soooo cute!
Don’t
bite Mickey’s ears off Colly, oh too late the muffin has been scoffed ha ha!! Cruelty to animals is all I can say ha ha!!!
So when you arrive at
your table they take your order for food, cereal, porridge, traditional
breakfast or waffles. Colin and I went
for traditional breakfast and Amy had a couple of sausages but whilst you are
eating then surprises kept on coming.
This is not a breakfast where you can eat as way too many exciting
things are happening because look who came to our table……….
Oh yes Snow White xxx
Then a few minutes
later ………
Aurora, Sleeping
Beauty xxx
And then ……………
Ariel The Little
Mermaid xxx
And then ……..
Jasmine from Aladdin xxx
And then ……….
No
more princesses just a wand with Royal Table written on it, wow that was a busy
20 minutes at breakfast. Amy got them
all to sign her autograph book so she is chuffed!
This
is the dining room in the castle, we are now finished our breakfast and got all
our treats!!
Stain glass window!
Inside
the castle where we met Cinderella
Time to go and
explore the park a bit more!
So we head out and now Amy is keen to get her
autograph book signed so we are now queuing to see Merida from Brave
Yet
again Amy and I leave Col in the queue as we can hear a parade going on so Amy
and watch it and join Col back in the queue after the parade has finished! Not a very good view because of the trees!
Oooooooo
our second glimpse of Mickey today!
The
brave stance!
All
the princesses are really good with the children, they sign the autographs,
chat away and give them a cuddle!
Special moments from all of them!
Then we walk around
the corner and whoah ……….
Tigger cuddle and then a cuddle from…..
Pooh xx
Tigger was really cute as their slot time was up , they get 20 minutes in the costume and this heat that must be long enough for them so they had to walk off the meet and greet area so Tigger held Amy’s hand all the way down and kept on giving her extra cuddles, how sweet!!!
So
we next went onto the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride and this was the
kid’s play area for them to be entertained while we all waited for the ride, 40
minutes this time!
Colin
hasn’t had much opportunity of working recently but here is one now. We get handed this card at the start of the
queue or the end of the queue which ever way you see it or maybe I will say
back of the queue instead anyway, the attendant says hand this card to the next
attendant to check the time in the queue.
So what happens is that the first attendant swipes the card with the
time and then we hand it to someone when we get to the ride and this checks
their accuracy of waiting times for everyone.
At the start of each ride there is a screen telling you how long the
waiting time is, clever!! Colin
succeeded in his task and actually remembered to hand it to the attendant! Well
done Colly!!!
Here we go on the
Winnie the Pooh adventures ride! Not
many thrill rides here, quite sedate really!
Woop
woop we are now on Dumbo’s Flying ride you can make Dumbo go up and down, we
were on but then had to come off due to technical difficulties but the ride
reset itself and then we got back on again for a longer ride this time! Colly has a Dumbo to himself!
The
Barnstormer rollercoaster, we are struggling today as there isn’t much
aircondiitioning or cooling fans around near the queues for the rides unlike
Universal?? Disney Magic Kingdom was
the first ever park of its kind to open in 1971 so that might be why as it is older than the others?
Next we go past some
more characters in the big top circus tent so Amy and I queue for Goofy and Donald Duck and Colin queues
for Minnie and Daisy Duck so we save some time as we didn’t appreciate the
queues would be so long for the characters as well as the rides! Autograph first everybody!!
How cool Goofy!
Then .......
Donald Duck
And then ........
Donald's girlfriend Daisy Duck xx
And then ..........
Minnie Mouse XXX
Amy
is really pleased as she got two kisses from Minnie xx
We went on Peter Pan’s
Flight, It’s a small world boat cruise, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and
Pirates of the Carribbean. Amy really
enjoyed Peter Pan and it was absolutely pitch black some of the ride but that
was okay but then the Pirates ride Amy said was too scary and dark which it
wasn’t!
We then headed to
Tomorrowland but passed through Main Street, USA and found Walt Disney and
Mickey. Amy keeps on telling us that
Mickey was the first ever character made by Walt so she was keen for the photo,
sweet!
What a stroke of luck
someone’s son walked into our photo and as we mutter under our breath well
maybe a bit louder than that the dad apologises and takes the family shot for
us, result eh!!
Topiary
it just has to be Minnie and Mickey XXX
Disney
have professional photographer’s poised in certain spots around the park to
take pictures of you but the one bonus in Disney is that the photographers are
allowed to take photos with your own camera too, bonus!! So nice family shot on our camera rather than a $20 photo from them!
Buzz
Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin ride where the person on each side of the car has
a laser gun to shoot the baddies!! Colin
and Amy had a gun and I was on the spinner controls!!
And
after the ride we met the man himself Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story
And
then we went and had a boogie with the Incredibles, Amy was high fiving them!!
This is funny we went
onto Space Mountain which is supposed to be a blast off coaster ride so weren’t
sure what to expect but as you can see from the photo Amy isn’t keen and held
my hand throughout the whole ride! It
was on a roller coaster going through the night sky with only twinkling lights
as stars at times which meant it was too dark for Amy! Another photo we could have bought from Disney but I took a photo of the screen they show you the photo on!
We have checked out
the show times and the parades start in the evening so the decision
is taken by all of us that we would like to stay for the Final Parade at 9pm
then fireworks at 10pm, we may never go back to Disney so better seeing things
than worrying about being late home!
Now we do have time
to go on the Walt Disney World Railroad, this queue was 40 minutes long and due
to us needing something to eat for tea and to get a spot for us to watch the
parade, our time is up on the rides!
Here
we go the start of the parade 9pm!! One thing we have noticed here is that it will be daylight one minute and then all of a sudden it is dark, no twilight zone it is either one or the other!
Goofy’s
train taking Mickey and Minnie through the town
Cinderella
and the Fairy Godmother
Peter Pan and the
show of floats just continued, it was beautiful to see and you felt everyone on
the floats were waving at us specifically, makes you feel special and I am sure everyone else felt the same too, magical! Even Colin was waving at the characters, big smiles all round xxx
We headed through to
the castle next to see the Celebrate the Magic projection show at 9.45pm where
the castle was transformed with lights and a story transposed over the castle,
hard to describe but it was amazing to watch and just couldn’t take a good
photo you just had to be there or you can look it up on youtube on this website
what a show and well worth the watch! Just click on the link - www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aG6iwuTJCY
The
finale at 10pm Wishes Night-time spectacular, WOW!! We decided to see it all and so glad we did
it rounded off a truly magical day!
But our finale was meeting ..........
MICKEY XX
But
then we noticed that Mickey was at the Meet and Greet station at the main
entrance so we had to meet the guy it all started with and he was the only
character that talked other than the princesses who were real people
Family shot xx
And
then we had another person to meet who was at the next meet and greet station next
to Mickey Mouse …….
Tinkerbell
who thought Amy could be one of the Flower Fairies as her dress shows that she
likes flowers!!
And here we go back
in with the crowds again to get back to the car!! We are parked at Heroes - Simba Row 11, the car parks are massive so we have to make a point of remembering where we are parked or else we would be in serious trouble!!
WOW what a truly amazing
but tiring day, meeting the princesses, Mickey and the other characters,
fireworks, parade and the castle coming to life with the projection show. Amy wasn’t sure what her best bit of today
was but we all had an absolutely wonderful, magical day!!
Thank you Disney’s
Magic Kingdom XXX
That was some experience, even us watching!!Cousin Chloe will enjoy watching this blog too.I bet you had a lot of wonderful dreams that night,Amy. Look forward to the next episode!! Luv to you all xXx
