Day 10 - Friday 6th
June
Typhoon Lagoon and
meeting up with Bill and Alison
Looking
good the young Anderson’s in the back of the car all ready for the waterpark
and both in their car seats! Clunk click
every trip!
Here
we go, woop woop!!
We
have made it to Typhoon Lagoon, let’s see what rides and slides there are
inside
Oh yeah!!
We
certainly feel we are pirates and on a treasure island
Lazy River
The
surf pool where the waves are 6ft tall, wow and it is North America’s largest
wave pool
So there wasn’t much
viewing or picture taking opportunities around the park so I will let you know
what we did but sorry no pics!
First ride we went on
was Gangplank Falls which was a family raft ride atleast Disney parks have
water sprayed onto the sidewalks and fans for where we were standing but we didn’t
hang about for long in the queues so that was good. Gangplank falls was okay but we went over a
bump and banged into a jutty out bit which was supposed to spin you around but
I was just at the wrong spot and it banged my booty instead :o(
Oh well onto the next
ride so we headed to Storm Slides three body slides hurtling down the
mountainside with a big splash at the end, Amy enjoyed this one as it was fast!
We headed to the
Crush ‘N’ Gusher roller coaster raft rides, never experienced a roller coaster
raft ride before so let’s see what this is all about! So you can go on a single, double or triple
tube so we went triple as the queue was really short. Poor Colly was our Macho man carrying the tube
up the several flights of stairs! You
could then chose what slide to go onto so with a triple tube we could choose
from Pineapple Plunger or Coconut Crusher.
We went Pineapple Plunger first, we are in position and the last thing
the attendant says ‘make sure your bottom is up!’ You get launched from the top on a travelator
thing and boy it had steep hills and fast corners, wow that was cool! Colin wasn’t so sure as he hit his booty this
time, he never heard the attendant say to lift your bottom. We go round and queue again as there are only
2 people in front of us for the triple tubes!
When you come out of the water then you hand the next in line your tube
so this shouldn’t take long for our turn.
We climbed up again to go on the Coconut Crusher the male attendant
never reminded us to lift our bottoms so Amy banged her booty this time! But the slide was just as fast and steep
inclines and declines, coooool!!! We
came off the slide and there is only a small queue again so back round we go
and our muscle man is back in action lifting the triple tube above his head
this time, Macho, Macho Man (I am singing as I am typing!) on the Pineapple
Plunger, the attendant says ‘lift your booty!’ everyone remembers and we all
enjoy the ride wow sometimes we get up so high and such a steep hill jump I feel
that we are coming off the tube, woweeeeeeeeeeeee!! Down we go and there is no-one to hand our
tube to as there are no triple riders but there is a massive queue for the
single and double tubes so the guy let’s us go on again without going all the
way round the exit and entrance, wow here we go again on Coconut Crusher!! Yeehah!!!
Okay that is enough now!!! We’ve
had fun but enough is enough!! NEXT
SLIDE PLEASE :O)
We jumped onto the
Lazy River Castaway Creek and got off at the next set of slides. Keelhaul Falls a scenic and swift ride down
Mount Mayday single tube this time! I am
first on, Amy then Colin a good twisty turning ride. Next slide is Mayday Falls single tube again
down rapids and bumps on the parks highest and longest single tube ride!! Cool ride, all of us enjoyed those two rides.
The final thing for
us to do is go in the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool and experience the 6ft
waves!! Colin goes off to do the Humunga
Kowabunga near-vertical five storey body slide in the dark, eeeek! No thanks to Amy and I but I’m not so sure of
the 6ft waves that are supposed to be coming!!!
Ok so the waves only come every half an hour and we must have only just
missed them so we wait it felt like an eternity but by the time Colin comes
back we are 10 minutes away from getting wave blasted!! And boy did we got blasted by the wave, Colin
was standing and got tossed around so much it made him do a somersault and I held onto Amy for
dear life and we got pushed back and ducked under, wowee!! But we made it out the other side, Amy thought
it was awesome I wasn’t so sure the power in that wave was scary! Amy wanted to hang around for some more but
we needed to get some lunch before meeting up with our cruise buddies Bill and
Alison.
We
stopped at the Leaning Palms Snack bar and sat outside watching the wave pool
over lunch. Instead of seagulls at lunch
we have another type of bird trying to beg, borrow and steal food from us as
well as a squirrel scuttling about too!
The
towels have been collected so that is us done at the final water park of our
Florida trip! We have enjoyed Blizzard
Beach and Typhoon Lagoon but wasn’t so keen on Wet N Wild!
Oh
boy glad we came early as we would not have wanted to wait in a queue of 45
minutes!
Three Happy
Faces JJJ
Amy
checking out the wave pool
Cool!
The
welcome I forgot to photograph on the way in, I was just too excited I forgot
hee hee!
Funny
hairstyle Amy must have been that 6ft wave ha ha!
We headed home to get
changed and then headed over to Bill and Alison’s house our cruise buddies
Bill took Colin golfing for 9 holes to Hunter’s Creek, Bill’s local course
Good
swing Colly!
Bill
on the golf course
So whilst the boys
were playing golf the girls were on a mission to try and find a sticker for
Amy’s suitcase! Alison was fab and took
us round 3 differing stores but we only found a small American flag sticker in
a pack of stickers for 4th July celebrations! Amy, Colin and I will continue the hunt another
day before we leave Orlando!! The girls
returned to the house and had a dip in the pool, or should I say a lovely warm
pool like having a lovely bath. The boys
came home and joined us in the pool and then my goodness we had a feast from
Bill and Alison. We had an absolutely
lovely afternoon/evening with great food and great company! Thanks Bill and Alison for inviting us into
your home and catering for all our needs during our visit.
Oh I am so glad that I am not the only one that sets up the camera to take a picture, thanks Bill and Alison for sending the photo on to us!
Amy lasted well today
but as soon as we got in the car she was zonked and using Yorkie as a pillow!!!
Well what a fun
packed day we had at the waterpark and also catching up with our cruise buddies
Bill and Alison. I am sure our paths
will meet again at some point in the future but until then guys, look after
each other and we will keep in touch XXX
