Shopping

Well we spent a few days whilst Amy was at school and then the weekend looking at furniture!!
The finale was Sunday afternoon when we had completed the whole list bar a hoover but we were all goosed by then to even contemplate looking at hoovers!!  A job Colin and I completed on Monday!

We met some lovely people along the way and each place we went into we asked advice on where they shop, any good deals or what they look for in things.  We took on everybody's advice and used the internet a lot for searching for more answers to our questions and price comparisons.

Funny stories from our shopping trail -
So we met an Australian who's surname was Anderson and guess what his dad's name is Colin Anderson.
We saw and loved furniture that was spookily called the 'Amy' range but it was out of our price budget sadly.
We had a shop assistant who was very helpful but did tell us that she wouldn't sell us one particular mattress as it was for people in their thirties, oh boy did I laugh!!
We had a good laugh with one lady from one furniture shopping, Sarah who was helping with the girl power!
Along the way Colin has certainly been using his haggling skills with deals to be done on everything we bought
We had our first ever experience of IKEA and boy did it drain us but we managed to get some storage boxes for Amy.  Amy was the only one of us that was still enthusiastic about looking round the store by the end!!

Our food shopping has gone back to the 'old days' in the UK.  We go to the green grocer for our fruit and veg, the deli counter for meat, cooked and raw, two different supermarkets for different products and the liquor store.  Thankfully our local mall has all the stores anyone would wish for all close by each other.

So here is the most important flat packing that took place on Sunday morning,
Amy just couldn't wait and was desperate to help!!

Good job Amy!!

Drum roll please..........................

Here we are her desk chair but her desk is on order so Amy has to make do with just the chair at the moment!!!

Jemima going for a spin on the chair too!!

Tasks this week - get electricity and gas connected and look into telephone packages - we are certainly not used to all the choices on offer from different companies for similar services,
mind boggling!!
