Day 6 - 7th July - Honolulu

Day 6

Monday 7th July

Well if we were in the Isle of Man it would be Public Holiday for Tynwald Day, so Happy Tynwald Day Manxies hope your enjoying your day off!

Challenge today is send our shipment forms away, complete my application form and to get Amy’s wobbly tooth out!!  Ok so the first two are easy compared to the tooth saga!!  Amy has had a loose tooth since before we left Isle of Man, considering that was back on the 12^th April.  So this tooth has been bugging Amy and us since then!  Her tooth started bleeding in Amsterdam as we were away to go to the airport (perfect timing NOT!), it has been causing her pain and discomfort when eating and recently it has been wobbling so much you could see it wobble when she talked to you, so enough is enough it needs to come out!!!

So all day yesterday it was NAG, NAG, NAG wiggle your tooth Amy, twist your tooth Amy, play with your tooth Amy, wobble your tooth Amy, NAG, NAG, NAG!!!!!!!  When we went to see the sunset last night we popped into the ABC Store which is a jack of all trade stores, everything and anything bit like Raymond’s in Sulby ha ha!!  So Amy sees a camper van toy with surf boards on top of it, sooooo cool that I fancy one too, flower for her hair, Nutella N Go and a keyring that she likes!!

So deal is made you can get the camper van, flower, Nutella N Go, Keyring, Rocky Road ice-cream and anything else you fancy from the shop if your tooth comes out!!!!!!!  Nothing like a bit of bribery and corruption to get the deal done!!!!!

 

 

So Amy has wiggled it, pushed it, pulled it and now her mouth is sore so let’s try bash it out of her mouth!  Didn’t get bashed out but it lightened the mood in the apartment and made everyone laugh!

 

Well bashing it out didn’t work, wiggling it didn’t help, ice has helped a little but still hasn't got it out, twisting it hasn’t helped, dental floss hasn’t worked, so the only thing left is for the heavy mob to be brought in!!!!  That is in the form of well supposed to be Colin helping with the tooth wiggling but he can’t do it so Amy is now lying on the bed between Colin and I, Colin holding her hand and I am pushing her tooth back and forth with ice applied in between to ease the pain and trauma! 

 

 

Poor Amy but it is soooooooo close to coming out.  And Amy is all ready for the pool and beach and we don't get there either if the tooth doesn't come out, COME ON TOOTH COME OUT!!!

Tell you what the tooth fairy better have something special for our brave soldier as this tooth has been wobbling for ages!?  Maybe the tooth fairy has been following the tooth blog rather than the Big Holiday Adventure blog, who knows?!?!??!  

Drum roll please………………………………..

 

 

Amy sits up has a tug and a pull, woop woop!!!!  Fireworks, party poppers and hooters should be going off right now as Amy has DONE IT, THE TOOTH IS OUT!!!!!!!!  What a huge sense of relief from all of us that the tooth is out!!!!

 

Hooray our brave soldier, symmetrical gum gaps now!!

 

Amy is bouncing on the bed celebrating!!!

 

Colin’s part of the bargain if the tooth came out was to let Amy tickle his feet for 2 minutes, Colin struggles with a couple of seconds so this should be funny and it was hilarious!!

 

Another treat I threw in was to finish the Nutella spread jar, now that is enough to get any tooth out!!!

 

Amy is so thoughtful she decided to share her Nutella with me, well a small spoonful for my hard work applying for my job, I am so nearly there!!!

 

 

One more click of the button and that will be my application form SUBMITTED!!!  Woop woop now there should be more fireworks, streamers and bands playing, all of our challenges have been met today as Colin emailed the shipping forms too!!!!   Hooray now we can all relax and enjoy our last day in Honolulu!!!!

 

And my reward is to have some cheap Californian Champagne that was even cheaper to buy than Paris Champagne, wow it better be good!!  And this must be put down on record Amy has not been able to finish the Nutella spread jar, too sickly, I never thought I would hear those words from Amy's mouth!!! 

So the rest of the Nutella spread has been given to me to finish, wow I now have Nutella spread and Champagne as my treat!!!

 

Colin even put the glasses in the freezer to make them frosted, now I feel really spoilt!!

 

We have broken the 12 o’clock rule just because this is a real special day for celebrating, Champagne Liquid Brunch!!!

 

We all have a drink now of the non-alcoholic variety as Amy has surfaced from watching her favourite TV program and is now ready to celebrate with us and play UNO!! 

 

A door has opened at the end of our corridor so I pop out to check out the view and there is a golf course close by!

 

This is the road that we walk down to get to the beach with the church on the right hand side and Burger King is on the corner just behind the church, shops are either side of the road facing onto the beach, perfect location!

Here we are in the ABC Store collecting all of Amy’s treats for her tooth!

 

Colin’s treat is Flip Flop wine for sure local!!

Next treat is a dip in the pool, last time as this is our last day in Honolulu!

 

And then Amy went to play in the play area, Amy got stuck on the slide as she was wet and still in her bikini but also Amy looks way too big to be playing on this equipment, gosh our little girlie is growing up!!!

 

Time for lunch and then we headed ……

 

 

to the beach!!

 

Ohua Avenue is where our apartment is and Kalakaua Avenue is where the shops and the beach are on, let’s get going!!

 

There they are away to go out and catch some waves!

 

The two boogy boarders!  The sea and beach are busy so it is hard keeping a track of the pair of them!

 

 

Come on Daddy keep up, ride the waves!!

 

And here they are back to shore again after having fun out at sea!

 

They came in as this boat was trying to come in at the same time as loads of people were in the sea, looked a bit dodgy but this is what they do every day so it would have been fine but Colin and Amy were a bit worried seeing the boat near them, don’t blame them really!

 

Amy hiding behind the blue boogy board would you like some company?!  I'm coming in!!

 

 I am just not as brave as the others so I ride the waves closer to the shore!!  It is good fun but when the wave pushes you out it is just as quick to drag you back in so it is jump up quick on the sand!  Amy tried and got a sand burn as the sand is quite ouchy with the coral pieces!  Amy survived as it was only a little bit on her side and went back for more!  Absolutely brilliant being able to RELAX!!

 

So let's tap into Amy’s thoughts as she is standing there – Wow this is cool!  I wonder if this wave will get my feet wet?  I would like to go out again on the Boogy Board?  Funny the difference between Colin’s thoughts and Amy’s, funny!!

 

There they are away out for the last time Boogy Boarding on Waikiki Beach next time will be in Adelaide!!

So we came back from the beach to find that Amy’s tooth was missing from the kitchen table where we had left it??????????  So Amy now thinks that the tooth fairy has been????????  But none of us knew what would happen with losing a tooth away from home and in an apartment???????

 

So Amy wrote a note out and went to put the note under her pillow and then look what happened……….

 

The tooth fairy has been and what an array of things she has left Amy!  The tooth fairy must have been following Amy that is for sure with the gifts that she left…..

Well that is us all packed up and ready to move onto Tokyo tomorrow morning!  Feelings of apprehension and excitement for Tokyo and also the fact that we are nearly over with our Big Holiday Adventure are certainly rising!  Where has the last 82 days gone?!?!!?
